Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a reputable secondary school in Birmingham City Centre. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supporting students with special educational needs and be able to work effectively with teachers and other support staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting class Senior LSA's and Teachers with the preparation of resources to meet the personalised learning intentions of allocated students.
- Providing 1:1 and group support under the supervision of the class Teacher for the delivery of skills-based learning.
- Working closely with class Teacher to report on progress using an evidence-based approach.
- Enabling students to learn by understanding their learning goals and targets, enabling them to practice and learn new skills, and challenging them to be as independent as possible.
- Being involved in the provision of all aspects of support necessary to ensure the students' wellbeing and ability to function and engage in learning.
- Understanding and fully implementing Safeguarding policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- A minimum of GCSE qualifications in English and Maths.
- A SEN Teaching Assistant Qualification is desired but not necessary.
- A degree in Education or a similar subject.
Desirable Skills and Qualities:
- Initiative to take proactive actions.
- Organisational skills to manage tasks efficiently.
- Prioritisation skills to handle multiple responsibilities.
