About Prospero Teaching: Prospero Teaching is seeking a skilled and compassionate SEN Support Assistant to work with children in a specialized educational environment.

Role Overview: The successful candidate will provide essential support to children aged 3-11 years who experience a variety of learning challenges, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC).

Responsibilities:

  • Assist children on a one-to-one basis or in small groups, catering to their individual learning and sensory needs.
  • Support pupils with complex medical requirements and sensory impairments, ensuring their well-being and educational progress.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

Contract Details:

  • Position: SEN Support Assistant
  • Type of Work: Classroom and SEN support
  • Contract Type: Temporary with potential for permanent placement
  • Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday (term time only)
  • Hours: 8:20 AM to 3:30 PM

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience in a similar role is essential.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
  • Provide two professional references related to child care covering at least the last two years.

Professional Development: Prospero Teaching offers free, accredited professional development courses, including safeguarding and behavior management, along with access to an in-house Training and Development Team.
