Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Adult Nurse to join our Hyper Acute Stroke team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Senior Staff Nurse (Band 6). This is an exciting opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills in acute stroke care and management, working closely with a dynamic team to provide high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Clinical Expertise: Provide leadership and clinical expertise to the ward team, ensuring excellent nursing care and high standards of patient care.
  2. Emergency Response: Respond to emergency FAST positive stroke calls and admissions, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide timely and effective care.
  3. Patient Assessment and Care: Assess and care for patients with acute stroke, including post-interventional treatments and early phase rehabilitation and discharge.
  4. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the senior nursing team and multidisciplinary team to ensure effective use of resources and high standards of care.
  5. Quality Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, including audits and research projects, to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Neurosciences Experience: Essential experience in neurosciences, with a strong understanding of acute stroke care and management.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated leadership skills and experience, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Education and Qualifications: RN (general) Degree or equivalent, with a mentorship qualification and a strong commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
