About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stroke Medicine Consultant to join our team at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our Comprehensive Stroke Service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of our stroke service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide in-patient and out-patient care for patients referred with suspected stroke or TIA
  • Contribute to the provision of a 24-hour acute stroke specialist service delivering thrombolysis and other specialist treatments
  • Participate in clinical and other service activities to ensure a high standard of patient care
  • Contribute to the management of the clinical service and service development
  • Advance the Unit's research programme

Requirements
  • Full GMC registration
  • Experience, evidence of specialist stroke training, and a CCT in any stroke parent specialty or be close to their CCT date
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the care of patients
  • IT skills and computer literacy
  • Independent thrombolysis practitioner
Person Specification
  • MRCP
  • Experience in the management of stroke patients/older people
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, relatives, GPs, nurses, and other staff and agencies
