Position Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified individual for a 10 PA role (7.5 DCC, 2.5 SPA) within our Comprehensive Stroke Service. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in stroke medicine, with an emphasis on comprehensive training rather than a specific base specialty.

This position offers the opportunity for clinical leadership within the department for candidates demonstrating the requisite skills, along with the necessary support and training.

Established in 2009, our Stroke Unit adheres to stringent audit and quality standards, providing 24/7 thrombolysis and comprehensive rehabilitation services, including an early supported discharge team. Our service is distinguished by its multi-disciplinary collaboration and a strong commitment to research, engaging in studies that encompass all phases of stroke.

Our Unit has consistently achieved high ratings on the SSNAP audit and has received accolades for its clinical leadership and research initiatives.

The successful candidate will be expected to engage in both undergraduate and postgraduate education, as well as participate in departmental audits and research activities.

The role is based in a prominent district teaching hospital with excellent transport links and outstanding local amenities, including top-tier private and public educational institutions.

Candidates must hold full GMC registration, demonstrate experience in specialist stroke training, and possess a CCT in any stroke-related parent specialty or be nearing their CCT date. We welcome applications from doctors within 6 months of their CCT, those holding a CESR in Stroke medicine, and existing consultants considering relocation.
