Position Overview

This role encompasses a 10 PA position (7.5 DCC, 2.5 SPA) within the Comprehensive Stroke Service. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in stroke medicine, with the emphasis on the quality of training over the specific specialty.

Key Responsibilities

The selected individual may have the opportunity to take on a clinical leadership role within the department, provided they demonstrate the requisite skills, along with support and training.

The Stroke Unit, established as part of the London reorganization of stroke services, adheres to stringent audit and quality benchmarks. We offer round-the-clock thrombolysis and extensive rehabilitation services, complemented by an early supported discharge team. Our service is particularly noted for its collaborative multi-disciplinary approach and dedication to research, engaging in studies that encompass all phases of stroke.

The Unit has consistently received high ratings on the SSNAP audit and has been recognized with awards for its excellence in clinical leadership and research initiatives.

Teaching and Research Contributions

The appointee will be expected to engage in both undergraduate and postgraduate education, as well as participate in departmental audits and research projects.

Northwick Park is a prominent district teaching hospital located in North West London, offering excellent transport links and access to high-quality local amenities, including both private and public educational institutions.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must hold full GMC registration and possess relevant experience, demonstrating evidence of specialized training in stroke medicine. A CCT in any parent specialty related to stroke or nearing the CCT date is essential. We welcome applications from doctors within six months of their CCT or CESR in Stroke medicine, as well as existing consultants considering relocation.
