Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stroke Medicine Consultant to join our team at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our Department of Stroke Medicine, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the ongoing development of our stroke service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to consultant ward rounds every weekend day and public holiday, working collaboratively with the clinical and managerial team to support and deliver quality improvements on the Stroke Unit and in the community.
  • Provide clinical input into the early supported discharge service, specialist stroke community initiatives, and stroke follow-up, ensuring seamless care for our patients.
  • Take an active part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training, sharing your expertise with the next generation of healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in clinical and other service activities, such as medical and service audit, to ensure a high standard of patient care and contribute to the development of clinical quality and effectiveness in other clinical areas.
  • Advance the Unit's research programme, exploring new and innovative ways to improve stroke care and outcomes.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need to have full GMC registration and experience, evidence of specialist stroke training, and a CCT in any stroke parent specialty or be close to your CCT date. Applications are welcomed from Doctors within 6 months of their CCT, or CESR in Stroke medicine, and existing consultants looking to relocate.
