Position Overview

This role encompasses a 10 PA position (7.5 DCC, 2.5 SPA) within the Comprehensive Stroke Service. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in stroke medicine, with the caliber of the applicant being paramount over their primary specialty.

There is an opportunity for a clinical leadership position within the department for a qualified candidate, supported by appropriate training and resources.

Service Excellence

The Stroke Unit was established as part of the London reorganization of stroke services and adheres to stringent audit and quality standards. We provide around-the-clock thrombolysis and comprehensive rehabilitation services, including an early supported discharge team. Our service is distinguished by its collaborative multidisciplinary approach and a strong commitment to research, engaging in studies that encompass all phases of stroke care.

Recognition and Teaching

The Unit has consistently received high ratings on the SSNAP audit and has been recognized with awards for its clinical leadership and research initiatives. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate education and participate in departmental audits and research activities.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must hold full GMC registration, possess demonstrable experience in specialist stroke training, and have a CCT in any stroke-related specialty or be nearing their CCT date. We welcome applications from doctors within six months of their CCT or CESR in Stroke medicine, as well as existing consultants considering relocation.
