Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Sales and Business Development Representative to join our friendly Sales Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales activity for boxes and dining to maximize revenue and deliver raceday targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent Newbury Racecourse's racing business to potential and existing clients, promoting our unique events and experiences.
  • Respond to and convert incoming enquiries for raceday hospitality boxes and restaurants, providing exceptional customer service and building strong relationships.
  • Manage existing accounts and grow their potential, identifying new business opportunities and developing strategic plans to achieve sales targets.
  • Proactively generate new leads to build and enhance the existing customer portfolio, leveraging industry connections and networking opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate proposals, contract documents, and invoices in a timely manner, ensuring seamless communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure the booking system is updated in real-time to allow for accurate sales forecasting, providing valuable insights to inform business decisions.
  • On racedays, meet and greet, troubleshoot, and liaise with customers to deliver an exceptional customer experience, exceeding their expectations and building loyalty.
  • Collaborate closely with the catering team to coordinate and deliver box and dining products, ensuring seamless execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Organize sales visits (external and internal) to build relationships, identify new business opportunities, and drive sales growth.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a sales environment, preferably with a mix of new business and proactive account management.
  • Prior experience within the hospitality or sports industries would be advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills combined with a flair for customer interaction.
  • Motivation and enthusiasm for the position and the company.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • A positive, proactive attitude.
