About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales and Business Development Executive to join our Sales Team at Newbury Racecourse. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving sales revenue and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively represent Newbury Racecourse's racing business to potential and existing clients, building strong relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Respond to and convert incoming enquiries for raceday hospitality boxes and restaurants, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Manage existing accounts and grow their potential, developing and implementing sales strategies to increase revenue.
  • Proactively generate new leads to build and enhance the existing customer portfolio, leveraging industry connections and networking opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate proposals, contract documents, and invoices, ensuring seamless sales processes.
  • Ensure the booking system is updated in real-time to allow for accurate sales forecasting, providing valuable insights for business growth.
  • On racedays, meet and greet, troubleshoot, and liaise with customers to deliver an exceptional customer experience, exceeding their expectations.
  • Play an integral part in the coordination and delivery of box and dining products, forming close working relationships with the catering team to ensure seamless execution.
  • Organize sales visits (external and internal), fostering strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a sales environment, preferably with a mix of new business and proactive account management.
  • Prior experience within the hospitality or sports industries would be advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills combined with a flair for customer interaction.
  • Motivation and enthusiasm for the position and the company.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • A positive, proactive attitude.
