Job Opportunity

Newbury Racecourse is an award-winning sporting venue with a multi-functional site hosting various events, including concerts, weddings, conferences, and a hotel. We are seeking a Sales Executive to join our Sales Team and contribute to the day-to-day sales activity for boxes and dining to maximize revenue and achieve raceday targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent Newbury Racecourse's racing business to potential and existing clients.
  • Respond to and convert incoming enquiries for raceday hospitality boxes and restaurants.
  • Manage existing accounts and grow their potential.
  • Proactively generate new leads to build and enhance the existing customer portfolio.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate proposals.
  • Produce contract documents and invoices in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the booking system is updated in real time to allow for accurate sales forecasting.
  • Meet and greet, troubleshoot, and liaise with customers to deliver an exceptional customer experience on racedays.
  • Coordinate and deliver box and dining products by forming a close working relationship with the catering team, ensuring customers' expectations are exceeded.
  • Organize sales visits (external and internal).

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a sales environment, preferably with a mix of new business and proactive account management.
  • Prior experience within the hospitality or sports industries would be advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills combined with a flair for customer interaction.
  • Motivation and enthusiasm for the position and the Racecourse.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • A positive, proactive attitude.
