About the Role:

Newbury Racecourse is a leading sporting venue and event space seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales and Business Development Executive to join our team. As a key member of our Sales Team, you will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent Newbury Racecourse's racing business to potential and existing clients, promoting our unique event spaces and hospitality offerings.
  • Respond to and convert incoming enquiries for raceday hospitality boxes and restaurants, ensuring seamless customer experiences.
  • Manage existing accounts and grow their potential, identifying new business opportunities and developing strategic relationships.
  • Proactively generate new leads to build and enhance our existing customer portfolio, leveraging industry connections and networking opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate proposals, contract documents, and invoices, ensuring timely and efficient communication with clients.
  • Ensure the booking system is updated in real-time to allow for accurate sales forecasting and informed business decisions.
  • On racedays, meet and greet, troubleshoot, and liaise with customers to deliver exceptional customer experiences, exceeding their expectations.
  • Collaborate closely with the catering team to coordinate and deliver box and dining products, ensuring seamless execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Organize sales visits (external and internal) to foster relationships, identify new business opportunities, and drive revenue growth.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a sales environment, preferably with a mix of new business and proactive account management.
  • Prior experience within the hospitality or sports industries would be advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills combined with a flair for customer interaction.
  • Motivation and enthusiasm for the position and the company.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
  • A positive, proactive attitude.
