Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our dedicated team within the Immunology and Allergy Department. This role is pivotal in providing exceptional nursing care and support to patients with immune deficiencies and allergies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver high-quality nursing care in alignment with a patient-centered approach, ensuring the smooth operation of the unit.
  2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance clinical expertise and service delivery across a wide range of outpatient and day case clinics.
  3. Work under the guidance of senior nursing staff while developing specialized knowledge in immunology and allergy.
  4. Independently manage patient care while being accountable for professional actions.

Core Duties:

  1. Assist in various clinics, including immunoglobulin infusion, allergy assessments, and drug challenges.
  2. Perform essential procedures such as skin prick testing and venepuncture, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  3. Educate patients and their families about their conditions and treatment options, fostering a supportive environment.
  4. Participate in the development of clinical guidelines and protocols to enhance patient care.
  5. Engage in research and audit activities to improve service quality and patient outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience:

Applicants should possess:

  • A valid nursing registration and a relevant degree in nursing.
  • Demonstrable experience in a clinical setting, preferably within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Skills in intravenous administration and a willingness to undertake further training in cannulation and venepuncture.
