Job Summary

The North West School of Radiology is seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiologist to lead the Interventional Radiology Simulation Suite at Aintree University Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for championing interventional radiology simulation education across the North West, working collaboratively with the School and NW Imaging Academies to deliver high-quality training and education to postgraduate doctors and multi-professional groups.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guides for trainers and trainees using the Simbionix simulator.
  • Maximize the potential of IR Simulation Education and support Radiologists and multi-professional groups to deliver training and education.
  • Contribute to teaching and room induction with NW School of Radiology trainees.
  • Ensure the simulator and consumables are regularly inspected and maintained, and liaise with colleagues for restocking and repair.
About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the development of interventional radiology simulation education in the North West. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with Academy Director, Head of School, TPDs, and Programme Support to support the robust operational delivery of the Academy within the NW School of Radiology.

Person Specification
  • Consultant in Interventional Radiology on the Specialist Register.
  • Membership or Fellowship of The Royal College of Radiologists.
  • Consultant currently working in NHS in North-West England.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum 2 years post CCT.
  • Formal educational qualification PGCert/FHEA Accreditation or equivalent educational experience.
  • Experience of organizing/delivering education programs/courses in Clinical Radiology.
  • Experience of creating both online and in-person teaching materials.
  • Previous or current appointment as an Educational Supervisor.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral presentation skills.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and an ability to motivate others.
  • An experienced educator and trainer with a vision for developing pedagogical methods of delivery.
