Xcel Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Import Customer Service Coordinator to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process import jobs from booking to delivery, including costing and invoicing, and completing all HMRC Customs Clearance requirements for clients.
- Work closely with the Commercial Team to develop and implement Ocean freight services.
- Ensure all consignments are loaded onto the system prior to or on departure, checking accuracy of paperwork and information provided.
- Receive and verify pre-alert documentation from overseas partners prior to or on the same day of departure.
- Obtain all relevant information and instructions from customers to complete customs clearance on imports, allowing for the release of cargo.
- Provide Transport Companies with necessary information to ensure customer delivery requirements are met.
- Verify payment from non-credit account clients and ensure Import Duty & Vat have been paid before importing or releasing orders.
- Cost and invoice all files prior to delivery.
- Liaise with customers and colleagues to ensure customer spreadsheets and special instructions are followed.
- Identify and report any issues or problems that could impact deadlines to the direct line manager, escalating to the account manager if necessary.
- Take ownership of accounting issues and queries, resolving them within 48 hours as directed by management.
- Assist with insurance claims in line with company procedures as requested by management.
- Complete weekly and month-end routines as directed by the line manager.
- Ensure all Client SOPs & SLAs are followed at all times.
