Business Development Manager Opportunity

Freight Personnel is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to join their well-established Road Freight division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for expanding the company's business in the South East of England, incorporating Essex, Kent, South East London, Hertfordshire, and Sussex.

The focus will be on European Groupage, but the company also offers full and part load services. The successful candidate will be responsible for acquiring new business through a consistent outdoor presence, structured and targeted appointments, and follow-up and cold calls. They will also be responsible for reporting back to the main hub to align with the commercial/customer solutions department and hub management.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

• Acquiring new business through a consistent outdoor presence and targeted appointments
• Reporting back to the main hub to align with commercial/customer solutions department and hub management
• Developing and maintaining existing client relationships
• Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
• Achieving company strategic commercial objectives

Main Duties:

• Promote and develop services within a defined region
• Establish a personal sales agenda and manage pipeline reports in accordance with company procedures
• Record sales activity in the company's CRM system
• Provide customer quotations and manage customer tariffs
• Identify new business and cross-selling opportunities
• Achieve given targets as directed by management
• Ensure company compliance in all areas
• Implement new business with key stakeholders within the organization
• Maintain knowledge of the competition and marketplace

Key Competencies and Skills:

• Results-oriented individual with a track record of exceeding expectations
• Effective communication skills to all levels of a business
• Good negotiation and persuasive skills
• Time management skills are essential
• Excellent Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills

Education and Experience:

The ideal candidate will have more than 3 years of employment within the freight industry and a track record of achieving sales targets and objectives.
