Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our pharmacy team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. This role is essential in ensuring the effective management of pharmaceutical inventory.

Effective stock management is vital in the pharmacy sector; this includes verifying, receiving, and securely storing medications. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, particularly in participating in inventory audits and verifying the integrity of pharmaceutical products.

While prior experience in a pharmacy setting is advantageous, comprehensive training will be provided. The successful candidate will also be expected to pursue an NVQ level 2 / Buttercups qualification in pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for visiting various departments to replenish medication supplies, compiling orders, and returning them to the respective areas. Additionally, they will be tasked with receiving and verifying orders from external vendors, ensuring accurate entry into the pharmacy management system.

The role also encompasses various administrative tasks, including organizing and filing documentation, managing waste and surplus medications, and supporting the overall efficiency and safety of the pharmacy operations. As this position involves the delivery of medications and intravenous fluids, experience in manual handling is beneficial.

Proficiency in Welsh is desirable for this position; applications are welcomed from both Welsh and English speakers.
