Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual to join our pharmacy team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. This role is integral to the effective management of pharmaceutical inventory within our organization.
Effective stock management is essential in the pharmacy sector; this includes verifying, receiving, and securely storing medications. The role involves meticulous attention to detail, particularly in stock-taking and verifying pharmaceuticals.
While prior experience in a pharmacy setting is beneficial, comprehensive training will be provided. Candidates will also be expected to pursue an NVQ level 2 / Buttercups qualification in pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for visiting various departments to replenish medication supplies, compiling orders, and returning them to the respective areas. Additionally, the role includes receiving and verifying shipments from suppliers before entering them into the pharmacy's inventory management system.
The position also entails performing various administrative tasks, such as organizing and filing documentation, managing waste and surplus medications, and supporting the overall efficiency and safety of the pharmacy operations. This role requires the delivery of medications and IV fluids, thus prior experience with manual handling is advantageous.
Proficiency in Welsh is preferred for this position; however, applications from both Welsh and English speakers are welcomed.
