Job Title: Pharmacy Manager/ Lead

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Manager/ Lead to join our Transformation Unit team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing leadership to a team of pharmacy technicians, scientists, and trainees, and supporting a team of pharmacists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver training to healthcare professionals across the Health board and provide Medicines Advice to healthcare professionals and patients across multiple health boards and nationally.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver innovative strategies for advancing medicines governance practices, while also retaining a strong focus on medicines safety.
  • Coordinate cover for annual leave, sickness, study days, and lieu time.
  • Support and maintain a high-quality service, conducted according to national and local guidance, to users within the Pharmacy department, throughout the UHB and external customers.
  • Provide a regular service to the dispensary or Medicines Management, which includes dispensing and accuracy checking medicines.
  • Responsible for training and supporting technical pharmacy staff in the delivery of medicines advice.
  • Act as "Key Trainer" for MA ensuring all staff are trained in local practices.
  • Establish and maintain links with other senior technicians, managers, and other pharmacy staff to ensure the service meets their needs.

Requirements:

  • BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science NVQ level 3 in pharmacy services.
  • Registered pharmacy technician with General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Supervisory or Management qualification.
  • Extensive and broad experience of all aspects of pharmacy practice.
  • Experience of training/assessing staff.
  • Experience of writing, developing, and implementing SOPs.
  • Previous experience in Medicines Advice.
  • Knowledge of hospital stock control systems.
