Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Assistant Technical Officer. As a key member of our Technical Services team, you will be responsible for preparing Intravenous Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) medication for our patients, working to regulatory standards and following Standard Operating Procedures compliant with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

Main Responsibilities

  • Undertake in-house specialist training to become a competent cleanroom operator
  • Assist in the provision of a pharmaceutical service, undertaking a wide range of day-to-day activities in the aseptic unit
  • Prepare SACT medication, clean and maintain the aseptic suite and its associated equipment, set up work trays, and manage stock control and ordering
  • Participate in weekend and bank holiday rotas as required

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
  • Evidence of recent development (skills updating)
  • Able to communicate with patients and staff
  • Well-motivated and able to work in a team
  • Able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Any recent training with regard to pharmacy or healthcare
  • Pharmacy experience
  • Aseptic/dispensary experience
