Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Technical Services team as a Senior Assistant Technical Officer at Velindre Cancer Centre. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our experienced staff to provide a pharmaceutical service that meets the highest standards of quality and safety.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing Intravenous Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) medication for our patients, working as part of a team to assist in the provision of a pharmaceutical service. This will involve undertaking a wide range of day-to-day activities in the aseptic unit, including preparing SACT, cleaning and maintaining the aseptic suite and its associated equipment, setting up work trays, stock control and ordering.

Requirements
  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
  • Evidence of recent development (skills updating)
  • Able to communicate with patients and staff
  • Well motivated
  • Able to work in a team
  • Able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service
