About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Technical Services team as a Senior Assistant Technical Officer at Velindre Cancer Centre. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in preparing Intravenous Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) medication for our patients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in the provision of a pharmaceutical service, working closely with the rest of the team to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Undertake a wide range of day-to-day activities in the aseptic unit, including preparing SACT, cleaning and maintaining the aseptic suite and its associated equipment, setting up work trays, stock control and ordering.
  • Participate in weekend and bank holiday rotas as required.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working within a regulated environment, cleanrooms or laboratories is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
  • Well-motivated and able to work in a team.
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
