About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Technical Services team as a Senior Assistant Technical Officer at Velindre Cancer Centre. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in preparing Intravenous Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) medication for our patients.

Main Responsibilities

As a Senior Assistant Technical Officer, you will be responsible for working closely with our team to ensure the accurate preparation of SACT medication. This will involve working in a cleanroom environment, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) compliant with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). You will also be required to undertake in-house specialist training to become a competent cleanroom operator.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
  • Evidence of recent development (skills updating)
  • Able to communicate with patients and staff
  • Well motivated
  • Able to work in a team
  • Able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Any recent training with regard to pharmacy or healthcare
  • Pharmacy experience
  • Aseptic/dispensary experience
