About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing timely and effective patient-centred assessments to those with acute needs within our hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive geriatric assessments within the Emergency Department, Acute Medical Unit, and Frailty Same Day Emergency Care (FSDEC) settings.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective care plans that address the physical, functional, and social needs of patients.
  • Supervise and support junior staff members, including physiotherapy students, to ensure high-quality patient care and professional development.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote best practice in physiotherapy care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the evaluation of service delivery.
Requirements
  • BSc Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
  • HCPC registration.
  • At least 18 months of experience as a Band 5 Physiotherapist within the NHS.
  • Proven experience of working within an acute trust setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
