About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham. As a Senior Physiotherapist - Geriatric Care, you will play a key role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our geriatric care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and effective patient-centred assessments to individuals with acute needs within the hospital
  • Conduct comprehensive geriatric assessments in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to promote patient independence and well-being
  • Collaborate with community services to ensure seamless transitions of care
  • Supervise and support junior staff members in their clinical placements
Requirements
  • BSc Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • At least 18 months of experience as a Band 5 Physiotherapist
  • Evidence of leadership training and experience
  • Interest or membership in the Acute Medical Society
  • Specialist knowledge in frailty syndromes and interventions for older adults
  • Experience in supervising and managing junior staff
  • Understanding of current legislation and its application to physiotherapy
