As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will play a crucial role in promoting equitable treatment for all staff members. Immerse yourself in the vibrant field of Employee Relations and Employment Policy, collaborating closely with Line Managers, ER Delivery Managers, and HR Business Partners to develop and execute effective solutions. Your contributions will be essential in mitigating risks and ensuring adherence to regulations. You will also partner with external service providers such as Occupational Health to deliver timely and vital services. Become an integral part of our mission to fulfill People Team objectives and foster a positive, compliant workplace environment.

Location: Dunstable campus, 5 days a week.

Salary: £30,000 - £33,000

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide Employee Relations guidance via phone and email, leveraging knowledge of employment law, company policies, and business needs.
  • Utilize coaching techniques to comprehend case contexts and respond to managers, identifying any gaps.
  • Assist Line Management in enhancing employee relations skills.
  • Follow up on actions to address inquiries, ensure compliance with advice, provide support, and confirm case resolution.
  • Identify potential risks and escalate them to the relevant manager or ER Specialist.
  • Review cases to pinpoint risks, capability gaps, or process enhancements, and advise on fair and consistent employment policies.

Qualifications We Seek

  • Minimum of 1 year of Employee Relations experience.
  • Strong comprehension of UK Employment Law.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a pleasant telephone demeanor, composure under pressure, and adaptability in coaching or directing.
  • Familiarity with Employee Relations/HR policies and procedures.
  • Proficient understanding of data protection regulations regarding rights requests.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
