LEAD DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE

Location: Birmingham, Hybrid

Compensation: Dependent on experience, including car allowance, enhanced pension, and private medical coverage.

OVERVIEW

This role presents a remarkable opportunity for a motivated and ambitious Lead Development Executive to become part of one of the UK's foremost owners of industrial and logistics properties. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee development projects and advance the development pipeline in alignment with corporate strategy.
  • Manage the entire project lifecycle from land acquisition to successful leasing and transition to the customer and portfolio management team.
  • Assume line management responsibilities for Development Managers and team members as necessary.
  • Drive project delivery and manage the relevant pipeline for sites, demonstrating ownership and effectively navigating challenges to achieve results.
  • Collaborate with various teams, including finance, portfolio management, and transactions.
  • Be accountable for assigned developments, including appraisals, valuations, budgets, and cash flow management according to business authorization levels.
  • Prepare Investment Committee documentation in accordance with the business plan and financial metrics.
  • Secure Estimated Rental Values (ERV) through leasing and negotiating new Build-to-Suit projects.
  • Identify and secure opportunities with customers and landowners.
  • Enhance engagement with agents representing occupiers and landowners.
  • Submit planning applications and obtain necessary consents to ensure project readiness.
  • Work closely with the strategic planning team, stakeholders, and landowners to advance sites in line with the business plan and forecasted expenditures.
  • Actively engage stakeholders to facilitate pipeline delivery, enhance brand visibility, and uncover new opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with obligations in Development Agreements and cultivate strong relationships with landowner partners.
  • Collaborate with transactions and portfolio teams to provide development expertise that supports their acquisition and redevelopment goals, including funding third-party developers.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • RICS General Practice or Planning and Development qualification.
  • Proven development experience in delivering projects, customer leasing, and land acquisition.
  • Active market engagement with established relationships with key agents and clients.
  • Commercially savvy and a strategic thinker capable of unlocking project potential.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to build valuable, long-term relationships with clients and their representatives.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering projects and securing new opportunities.
  • Proficient with technology and appraisals, viewing technology as a means to enhance efficiency and capability.
