The Football Association is seeking a Project Coordination Officer to collaborate closely with the Senior Facilities and Projects Manager and various league consultants. This role involves providing project management and administrative assistance across a diverse range of projects, including but not limited to Facilities, Match Day Safety, and Sustainability initiatives.

This position is structured as a fixed-term contract.

About The Football Association

The Football Association operates as an independent entity where each Club participating in the top two tiers of women's football acts as a shareholder, collectively overseeing the women's professional game in England.

The overarching goal of The Football Association is to collaboratively enhance the distinctiveness, competitiveness, and entertainment value of women's football competitions globally. Establishing this organization presents a unique opportunity to foster sustainable growth within the women's game, supporting not only the Barclays Women's Super League and Barclays Women's Championship but the entire women's football framework.

Key Responsibilities

General Duties

  • Assist various working groups in executing project objectives.
  • Organize meetings, manage logistics, set agendas, and document actions and minutes.
  • Aid the programme lead in conducting multi-workforce sessions, such as safety officer workshops.
  • Support the Senior Facilities and Projects Manager with club promotion applications.
  • Collaborate with all league departments to ensure the effective execution of the league's business strategy.
  • Compile information and generate departmental reports as needed for monthly assessments, including risk registers.
  • Process Purchase Orders and assist with financial operations to ensure smooth business operations.
  • Undertake additional tasks as necessary to adapt to the evolving priorities of the organization.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures to maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and well-being.
  • In line with The FA's commitment to a safe environment in football, all employees will be required to undergo a DBS check, with the level of check determined by the specific job role and in accordance with legislation and government guidelines.

Sustainability Initiatives

  • Assist in the formulation and execution of the league's sustainability strategy.
  • Support the internal sustainability working group.
  • Engage with the cross-football sustainability group.
  • Monitor and report on the league's carbon footprint.

Safety & Security Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the league's match day safety and security strategy.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of innovative projects for future seasons.
  • Track and analyze data from ongoing projects throughout the season.

Facility Project Support

  • Aid the Senior Facilities and Projects Manager in crafting league regulations and ensuring compliance.
  • Support the development and execution of club capital projects across member clubs to ensure successful league outcomes.

Essential Qualifications

  • A strong interest and understanding of the sports industry, particularly women's football.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple projects and working groups.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, both internally and externally.
  • Familiarity with policies, licenses, and regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and database management.
  • Basic knowledge of financial and budgeting processes within an office setting.
  • Flexibility in working hours.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in sports or capital development projects from inception to completion.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices within the sports sector.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in relevant fields such as sports, sustainability, or crowd management.
  • A formal qualification in project management, such as Prince II, is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • A valid driving license.
