Overview

In collaboration with the Head of Safeguarding and Quality Assurance, you will spearhead the execution of the PLCF's quality assurance (QA) strategy. Your role will be pivotal in elevating standards across our funded Premier League initiatives.

You will engage in cooperative efforts with our funders and partner organizations to refine our QA methodology, demonstrating the quality and impact of Premier League Charitable Fund (PLCF) investments.

About Us

Founded in 2010, the PLCF stands as one of the largest sports charities globally, managing an annual budget of approximately £35m. This independent charity aids Community Clubs in executing high-quality projects while showcasing its success to key stakeholders.

Aligned with the Premier League's broader Football and Communities Strategy, the PLCF is dedicated to fostering positive and enduring sporting, social, educational, and health outcomes for a diverse range of beneficiaries, particularly children and young people.

The PLCF team facilitates impactful initiatives through over 92 Community Clubs, including those in the Premier League, EFL, and National League, directly benefiting more than 500,000 individuals at numerous community venues and schools annually.

The Premier League Charitable Fund is committed to equal opportunities and strives to cultivate an inclusive environment where talent can thrive. We value the potential of every individual and welcome those who share our values.

All selections will be based on merit; however, we particularly encourage applications from women, individuals from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those with disabilities.

Our hybrid-working model offers flexibility in your work location, allowing for remote work on certain days each week. You will attend the office or site visits as per our company policy, collaborating closely with your line manager to manage your time effectively according to team needs.

The Role

  • Lead the implementation of the PLCF QA Strategy and develop a new strategy for the upcoming seasons as it pertains to the work of Community Clubs funded by PLCF.
  • Oversee the trial of a revised QA approach throughout the upcoming season, collaborating with our commissioned provider on the design and testing of pilot QA activities.
  • Design and manage a schedule of QA visits to funded Community Clubs that is adaptable and responsive to identified risks.
  • Define the necessary components of our activities within Community Clubs to ensure they are safe, effective, and provide positive experiences for our target beneficiaries.
  • Evaluate and ensure that activities and processes are executed to high standards and achieve intended outcomes.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of qualitative and quantitative data from PLCF teams, Community Clubs, and delivery partners to identify priorities and inform a risk-based approach to QA visits.
  • Ensure regular progress reports are submitted to relevant colleagues across the PLCF team, including the Senior Leadership Team and the Audit and Risk Committee, detailing updates on QA activities along with analysis and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance assessors to plan, execute, and review onsite visits of Community Club activities to gather program feedback, best practices, and impact insights.
  • Manage and effectively utilize QA data and reporting mechanisms, identifying areas needing improvement and assisting PLCF Programme Managers in implementing quality enhancements.
  • Stay informed about current discussions within the sports, voluntary, and quality assurance sectors.
  • Liaise with other relevant departments within the Premier League.
  • Perform additional duties as required, providing support to team members during peak periods.

Requirements for the Role:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in conducting quality assurance activities against established standards, including outcome and impact assessment.
  • Experience in setting and evaluating quality standards using various techniques.
  • Proficient in stakeholder management, understanding and influencing a complex network of partners with diverse perspectives.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, capable of gathering and synthesizing insights.
  • Strong communication skills, able to engage a variety of audiences effectively, with excellent English oral and written abilities.
  • Project management skills, adept at managing a complex network of stakeholders.
  • Team-oriented with exceptional planning and organizational skills, able to perform well under pressure and solve problems effectively.
  • High proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Office and monitoring and evaluation systems.
  • Ability to implement relevant safeguarding practices effectively.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, with a willingness to travel as required.
