Position Overview

We are excited to present a unique opportunity to become a vital member of the dedicated gynaecology oncology nursing team at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. This role is for a Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist in Gynaecology Oncology.

We are looking for a motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist in Women's Health-Gynaecology Oncology. In this position, you will collaborate with fellow healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of exceptional care while working closely with consultants in the Gynaecology-Oncology Services. Your role will involve providing specialized nursing services, delivering comprehensive, patient-focused, and compassionate care to women undergoing investigations, treatments, or living with cancer.

You will be part of a supportive, innovative, and forward-thinking multidisciplinary team committed to enhancing services and supporting patients throughout their cancer journey.

Key Responsibilities

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will deliver a high standard of nursing care for patients diagnosed with Gynaecological cancers. You will serve as the clinical authority and professional resource for the multidisciplinary team, patients, and their families within the Gynaecology-Oncology service. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that patients and their families receive the utmost care and support from the point of referral through diagnosis, treatment planning, surgical procedures, and oncological therapies.

Additionally, you will provide a direct telephone support service for patients with urological cancers and their families, offering ongoing advice, information, and assistance.

In collaboration with other Gynaecology Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialists and under the guidance of the Lead Gynaecology Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will work to develop and enhance the specialized service within the clinical governance framework, adhering to NICE guidelines and the London Cancer Network protocols.

You will represent the Gynaecology/Oncology Network at local and national meetings, providing leadership in clinical practice for professional teams and peers, ensuring an effective learning environment across primary and secondary care.
