This position entails delivering expert clinical and scientific guidance on microbiological assessments, interpretation of results, and advising on suitable therapeutic options while bolstering Infection Prevention and Control initiatives.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Education

Essential Requirements

  • Honours degree in a relevant scientific discipline
  • Postgraduate qualification in a pertinent field
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Scientist
  • Completion of Higher Specialist Scientific Training in microbiology
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists in Microbiology

Knowledge & Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • Extensive clinical experience and proficiency
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical microbiology
  • Hands-on experience in microbiology laboratories
  • Expertise in interpreting microbiological results
  • Competence in using PC applications and laboratory information systems

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in overseeing and managing microbiology departments
