Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neonatal Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and dedicated individual to take on a leadership role in our Neonatal Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and be responsible for the running of the Neonatal Unit in the absence of the Unit Manager
  • Lead a team of approximately 40 nurses caring for infants born from 27 weeks gestation & 800g
  • Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to patients
  • Recruit, select, and develop staff to ensure a skilled and motivated team
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (Level 1) qualification
  • Recognised teaching/assessing qualification
  • Neonatal Qualification in Speciality
  • At least 3 years at Band 5 or equivalent
  • Clinical audit and standard setting experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
