In this role, you will play a crucial part in our expansion and the achievement of outstanding business outcomes. Your primary responsibility will be to transform comprehensive shopping and retail environment insights into actionable category, retail, and customer strategies. Additionally, you will ensure that shopping insights are seamlessly integrated into marketing initiatives and support the overarching shopper insights agenda across categories.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

Develop compelling consumer narratives utilizing the consumer segmentation framework as a foundational data source. Offer expert guidance to stakeholders on the principles and applications of consumer segmentation to uncover actionable insights that drive growth at the retail level. Gather and analyze social intelligence to reveal significant cultural trends, snacking occasions, and brand opportunities within the retail landscape for your designated geographic area. Generate insights that drive behavioral change and identify effective engagement strategies. Continuously enhance business performance through data analysis, tracking, and learning. Provide actionable insights on innovation, communication, and brand growth priorities to shopper, customer, and revenue planning teams.

Qualifications

A commitment to advancing your career with expertise in:

Utilizing retailer/customer data, shopper insights, and analytics to formulate compelling retail customer strategies, preferably within the FMCG/CPG sector. High proficiency in essential business tools (Excel/PowerPoint), with a strong background in data modeling and visualization tools (experience with Tableau is essential). Extensive experience in analyzing and visualizing large datasets. Proven ability to present effectively to retail teams and manage negotiation and joint business planning. Strong understanding and application of market segmentation models. A successful track record of influencing and aligning key customers and business stakeholders within a complex organizational structure. Capability to collaborate effectively with marketing, sales, and external partners.

Role Insights

This position operates at a Pan-European level, reporting to the Senior Director of the EU Shopper Insight Center of Excellence. Your role will be pivotal in:

Collaborating with the EU Central Sales Capability teams, including:

eCommerce teams – 60% World Travel Retail & European Export – 15% Revenue Growth Management – 15% Perfect Store + International Customer & Buying Alliance teams – 10%

Supporting and coordinating local country shopper insight teams across our EU operations to develop best-in-class learning plans that leverage superior methodologies and insights to enhance the impact of shopper insights organization-wide.

Co-leading and managing the EU Shopper Insight Center of Excellence capability agenda to further develop EU shopper capabilities as part of our global ambition to excel in shopper insights.

Co-managing relationships with the Global Shopper Excellence Center of Excellence and leveraging their capabilities to influence the EU region while sharing learnings to support the global agenda.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience and proficiency in:

A comprehensive understanding of digital commerce and its potential as a growth channel. Managing diverse stakeholders (from managers to senior directors) and effectively influencing decision-making through insights while prioritizing tasks. Overseeing market research initiatives, including budget management, agency selection, and methodology development. Knowledge and experience in market research methodologies related to shopper insights and analytics. Leading an insights agenda from identifying business needs to driving impactful decisions.

Proficiency in spoken and written English is essential for this position.
