Role Overview:
Your primary responsibility will be to assist in overseeing, guiding, motivating, and managing the production activities during the night shift, ensuring compliance with company standards and health and safety regulations.
Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday - 21:00-7:00 – hours compensated.
Division Overview:
Within the Resources & Energy division, we specialize in the treatment, recycling, and disposal of waste materials. Our services include processing recoverable materials and providing landfill solutions for those that cannot be recycled or converted into energy.
Why this role is essential:
- Maintain health and safety standards and performance metrics on site.
- Support the supervision of the night shift team and the overall operations of the facility.
- Engage in hands-on activities, operating both mobile and fixed equipment as part of your core responsibilities.
- Evaluate and oversee production teams to promote continuous improvement.
- Document and report any deficiencies observed within the facility.
- Monitor staff training and compliance, aiding in the management of production teams.
- Collaborate with the management team regarding the operational performance of the facility.
- Act as the deputy in the absence of the Shift Leader, taking responsibility for site operations.
- Communicate professionally with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in investigating accidents and incidents.
- Support the team in achieving key performance indicators for the site.
Qualifications:
What we are looking for:
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations, IOSH certification (preferred).
- Understanding of ISO standards and requirements.
- Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, etc.).
- Experience in the waste management sector (preferred).
- Demonstrated management or supervisory experience in large teams, particularly in production or manufacturing settings (essential).
- Basic knowledge of engineering and mechanical principles (preferred).
