Biffa is a leading waste management company that's passionate about making a difference. As a Night Shift Supervisor, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Ford facility, where we transform waste into sustainable power and recyclable materials.

About the Role

As a Night Shift Supervisor, you'll be responsible for supervising, leading, and motivating the night shift production team to achieve company standards and health and safety requirements. You'll work closely with the management team to ensure the site operates efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead the night shift production team to maintain high standards of performance and health and safety.
  • Operate mobile and fixed plant as part of your principal responsibilities.
  • Monitor and review production teams to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Report and record deficiencies within the plant.
  • Monitor staff training and compliance and support the management of production teams.
  • Liaise with the management team on the plant's operational performance.
  • Deputise in the absence of the Shift Leader and assume responsibility for the site.
  • Liaise with external and internal customers in a professional manner.
  • Assist in the investigation of accidents and incidents.
  • Assist the team in achieving the site's KPI.

Requirements

Here's what we require:

  • Working knowledge of H&S, IOSH (desirable).
  • Knowledge and understanding of ISO accreditations and requirements.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, etc).
  • Previous experience and knowledge gained in the waste sector (desirable).
  • Previous management/supervisor experience of working with large teams predominantly in production/manufacturing environments (essential).
  • A general understanding of engineering/mechanical principles (desirable).
