Biffa is a leading waste management company that's dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment. As a Night Shift Supervisor, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Ford site, where we focus on the treatment, recycling, and disposal of waste.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead the night shift team to maintain high standards of health and safety and production performance.
  • Operate mobile and fixed plant as part of your key responsibilities, ensuring the site runs efficiently and effectively.
  • Monitor and review production teams to identify areas for continuous improvement and implement changes as needed.
  • Liaise with the management team to ensure the site's operational performance meets company standards.
  • Deputise for the Shift Leader in their absence, taking responsibility for the site and its operations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional manner.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A working knowledge of health and safety principles and IOSH certification (desirable).
  • Knowledge and understanding of ISO accreditations and requirements.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Previous experience in the waste sector (desirable) and management/supervisor experience of working with large teams in production/manufacturing environments (essential).
  • A general understanding of engineering and mechanical principles (desirable).
