Mental Health Nursing Specialist

Hours: 37.5 hours per week - Part-time/Full-time and Night shifts available

We are seeking qualified RMNs for various wards including:
- Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)
- Acute Care
- Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
- Eating Disorders Unit (EDU)
- Specialist Dialectical Behavior Therapy Unit for personality disorders
As a Registered Mental Health Nurse, you will collaborate with a skilled multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional personalized care, assisting our clients in achieving their recovery objectives and fostering a positive future post-discharge.
This facility provides a comprehensive inpatient mental health service tailored for adolescents aged 13 to 18 years, featuring open acute and psychiatric intensive care services. The Young People's Service encompasses three wards dedicated to treating a range of mental health issues through individualized care plans aimed at promoting recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored care to a designated group of patients based on their unique needs.
- Assess, plan, and implement nursing care in collaboration with patients and their families, ensuring regular evaluation and adjustment of care plans.
- Engage with and observe Service Users to assess their needs and monitor progress effectively.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold clinical governance standards.
- Occasionally oversee the Ward as the Nurse in Charge, ensuring a safe environment.
- Address any concerns regarding patient well-being, incidents, or staffing issues appropriately.
- Support and mentor new/junior staff and agency personnel in delivering person-centered care.
- Ensure compliance with the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberty Standards.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Active NMC Registration as a Qualified Registered Nurse.
- Familiarity with NMC standards, guidelines, and professional practices.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and quality enhancement.
- Ability to adopt flexible and innovative approaches to nursing practice.
- Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills; proficient in IT.

Pay Enhancements:
- Night shifts (Monday to Friday 22:00 - 06:30) - 20% of hourly rate
- Saturday shifts - 20% of hourly rate
- Sunday shifts - 50% of hourly rate
- Bank holiday shifts - 50% of hourly rate
Standard Shift Patterns:
- Day shifts: 07:30 to 20:00
- Night shifts: 19:30 to 08:00
Preceptorship opportunities are also available for this service, starting at a salary of £28,500.
