The role of the Manufacturing Engineer is pivotal in enhancing safety, productivity, and cost-effectiveness while maintaining superior quality standards within the TruStile production facility. This position is integral in spearheading continuous improvement initiatives and applying lean manufacturing principles to boost overall operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

The Manufacturing Engineer is tasked with comprehending project goals and formulating strategies to achieve them. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Assessing manufacturing workflows using lean methodologies to pinpoint inefficiencies.
  • Collaborating with maintenance and production teams to devise optimal workflow solutions.
  • Gaining expertise in new production machinery and developing comprehensive training materials for operators, supervisors, and maintenance staff.
  • Formulating waste reduction strategies and providing justifications for return on investment for enhancement projects.
  • Implementing 5S principles to streamline product workflows and workstation configurations.
  • Establishing standard operating procedures for critical processes, integrating maintenance schedules to ensure reliability.
  • Creating uniform work protocols across all shifts based on best practices to guarantee consistent outcomes.
  • Offering ongoing support to production teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the outcomes of improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Equivalent education and experience in a manufacturing engineering role will be considered.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing setting, managing project scope, timelines, and budgets.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and leading corrective action initiatives.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience or formal training in lean manufacturing practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the capability to develop data collection tools.
  • Familiarity with MS Forms, Power BI, and/or MS Excel.
  • Experience with CNC controls is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

The employee must frequently sit, use hands for manipulation, and communicate effectively. Regular reaching with hands and arms is required, along with occasional standing, walking, climbing, and balancing. The employee may need to lift and/or move items weighing up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

The work environment is primarily indoors in a standard office setting, with moderate noise levels typical of a manufacturing facility.
