The role of the Manufacturing Engineer is crucial in enhancing safety, productivity, and cost-effectiveness while maintaining the highest quality standards at the TruStile manufacturing facility. This position is pivotal in spearheading continuous improvement initiatives and applying lean manufacturing principles to boost overall operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

The Manufacturing Engineer is tasked with comprehending objectives and formulating strategies to achieve them. The responsibilities include:

  • Assessing manufacturing workflows using lean methodologies to pinpoint inefficiencies.
  • Collaborating with maintenance and production teams to develop optimal workflow solutions.
  • Gaining expertise in new production machinery and creating comprehensive training materials for operators, supervisors, and maintenance staff.
  • Formulating waste reduction strategies and providing return on investment justifications for enhancement projects.
  • Implementing 5S practices to streamline product workflows and workstation arrangements.
  • Developing standardized procedures for critical operations that integrate maintenance schedules to ensure reliability.
  • Establishing uniform work practices across all shifts based on best practices to guarantee consistent outcomes.
  • Offering ongoing support to production teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the outcomes of improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Equivalent education and experience in a manufacturing engineering role will be considered.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing setting, with accountability for project scope, timelines, and budgets.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and leading corrective action initiatives.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience or formal training in lean manufacturing practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop data collection tools.
  • Familiarity with MS Forms, Power BI, and/or MS Excel.
  • Experience with CNC controls is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands for various tasks, and communicate effectively. The employee frequently reaches with hands and arms and occasionally stands, walks, climbs, or balances. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

The work environment is typically indoors in an office setting, with moderate noise levels in the manufacturing area.
