The Process Improvement Engineer is a vital role focused on enhancing safety, operational efficiency, and quality standards within the TruStile manufacturing environment. This position is dedicated to driving continuous improvement initiatives and applying lean manufacturing principles to optimize overall facility performance.

Key Responsibilities:

The Process Improvement Engineer will take charge of understanding project goals and formulating actionable plans to achieve them. The responsibilities include:

  • Assessing manufacturing workflows using lean methodologies to pinpoint areas of waste.
  • Collaborating with maintenance and production teams to develop optimal workflow strategies.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert on new production technologies and creating comprehensive training materials for operators and supervisors.
  • Formulating waste reduction strategies and providing return on investment analyses for enhancement projects.
  • Implementing 5S practices to streamline product workflows and workstation arrangements.
  • Developing standardized work procedures for critical operations, integrating maintenance schedules to ensure reliability.
  • Establishing uniform work practices across all shifts based on industry best practices to guarantee consistent outcomes.
  • Offering ongoing support to production teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the outcomes of improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Equivalent experience in a manufacturing setting may be considered.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing context, managing project scope, timelines, and budgets.
  • Capability to conduct root cause analysis and spearhead corrective action initiatives.
  • Demonstrated hands-on expertise or formal training in lean manufacturing practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking abilities with proficiency in data collection tools.
  • Familiarity with MS Forms, Power BI, and/or MS Excel is advantageous.
  • Experience with CNC controls is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

The role requires regular sitting, manual dexterity, and effective communication. Frequent reaching and occasional standing, walking, climbing, or balancing may be necessary. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

The work environment is primarily indoors, resembling a typical office setting, with moderate noise levels in the manufacturing area.
