Position: Senior Merchandiser

As a Senior Merchandiser, you will oversee the complete merchandising process within our product development and purchasing team. This role encompasses the strategic planning and management of inventory, alongside the trading and optimization of products to align with both consumer and organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage core product planning through detailed excel-based WSSIs to enhance sales performance and achieve size availability and stock turnover goals.
  • Develop seasonal product ranges in collaboration with Buying, Design, and Finance teams.
  • Conduct assortment planning to ensure a well-rounded product offering.
  • Coordinate supplier and product production schedules effectively.
  • Oversee Open-to-Buy processes to maintain financial health.
  • Optimize size ratios to maximize sales potential.
  • Facilitate weekly supplier Critical Path meetings, ensuring timely updates and adjustments to production schedules.
  • Maintain an inventory intake tracker to optimize shipping permissions based on business requirements.
  • Lead product review sessions focusing on lessons learned, strategic planning, and future initiatives with product developers.
  • Implement departmental strategies in alignment with the Managing Director's vision.
  • Establish a clear range architecture, categorizing products as Good, Better, Best.
  • Act as a strategic liaison across departments including Marketing, Wholesale, International, Ecommerce, Finance/Merchandising, and Logistics.
  • Achieve or surpass the company's Gross Profit targets by ensuring product collections align with margin expectations.
  • Prepare and present weekly trade reports to stakeholders.
  • Optimize trade through various selling channels, including website merchandising.
  • Support broader business development initiatives by contributing to strategic planning and the implementation of new revenue opportunities.

Required Experience:

  • Proven ability to establish and lead a merchandising function, including the design and implementation of new processes.
  • Essential experience in fashion retail merchandising.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with direct reports.
  • Commercial finance knowledge, particularly in managing a P&L, is advantageous.
