A Merchandising Coordinator is sought for a prestigious retail organization, focusing on supporting the Buying Office (B.O) to meet sales objectives through effective planning, strategic evaluation, inventory management, and execution of key initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Profit Management (35%):
Collaborate with the Merchandising team to reach seasonal sales and profit goals. Work alongside the Buying team to curate a selection of products tailored to the customer demographics of each region. Utilize weekly performance metrics to implement strategies that enhance profitability. Anticipate sales and inventory needs on departmental WSSI and oversee continuity business. Ensure prompt deliveries and optimized stock levels in collaboration with the retail team.

Effective Communication (30%):
Act as a representative for the Merchandiser in trading and planning discussions. Cultivate vendor relationships to leverage trading opportunities. Maintain clear communication within the team and ensure alignment with departmental objectives. Keep the broader organization updated on departmental priorities.

Data and Inventory Oversight (20%):
Generate weekly performance reports and emphasize key insights. Provide analytical support for strategic planning. Assist in range planning to ensure a well-balanced assortment in accordance with strategy. Execute seasonal markdowns to optimize profit margins. Manage stock transfers and RTV agreements to achieve closing stock targets.

Team Development (15%):
Oversee and mentor any Merchandising Admin Assistants (MAAs) within the team. Offer on-the-job training and identify development opportunities. Monitor and assess performance, including conducting appraisals.

Essential Qualifications:
Proficient analytical skills and numerical aptitude. Advanced knowledge of Excel. Collaborative team player with strong relationship-building capabilities. Attention to detail and high accuracy. Proactive and self-motivated. Strong work ethic and ability to multitask. Professional communication skills. This position necessitates a combination of analytical, organizational, and communication skills to effectively support the merchandising and buying teams.
