Position Overview
Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated and passionate Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our esteemed healthcare team. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional care and support to our patients, and we are looking for a nurse who shares our commitment to excellence in nursing practice.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in our 24-bedded ward, contributing to the ongoing development of our clinical services and fostering a collaborative environment among the multidisciplinary team.
Our mission is to ensure the highest quality of care for all individuals, encompassing rehabilitative services, end-of-life support, and specialized care for patients undergoing detoxification.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational and communication abilities. While experience in discharge planning and relevant clinical competencies is advantageous, we are committed to providing comprehensive training to enhance your skills.
Work Schedule
The position involves day shifts from 07:30 to 20:00, or 12:00 to 20:00, as well as night shifts from 19:30 to 08:00. These shifts will be rotated to ensure continuous nursing care is available around the clock, seven days a week.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessing patient care needs and developing tailored care plans within the ward environment.
- Leading the nursing team and delivering comprehensive nursing care independently.
- Mentoring pre-registration and post-registration nursing students, as well as Healthcare Assistants pursuing National Vocational Awards.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with 1st Level Registration (NMC)
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
Desirable
- Teaching and assessing qualification (ENB or equivalent)
- 1st Degree or Diploma (or in progress)
- Leadership experience
