Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Nursing Team Leader to join our team at Swallowcourt. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our residents, while also leading and managing a team of care staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Provide leadership and guidance to a team of care staff, ensuring that they are equipped to provide high-quality care to our residents.
- Clinical Governance: Work within our clinical and non-clinical policies and procedures, ensuring that all care and nursing staff maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Medication Management: Order, administer, and dispense medications in accordance with our medication system, consulting with GPs and pharmacists as necessary.
- Professional Development: Take responsibility for your own professional development, attending relevant study days and courses to stay up-to-date with best practice.
- Safeguarding: Take responsibility for the safeguarding of adults, following our whistle-blowing policy as required.
- Health and Safety: Take reasonable care of your own health, safety, and welfare, as well as that of others who may be affected by your actions or omissions.
Requirements:
- Registration: Be registered on the NMC register, Part 1 or Part 2.
- Experience: Have experience in nursing for older people.
- Knowledge and Skills: Have knowledge and experience with the Gold Standards Framework, excellent clinical assessment skills, and the ability to motivate yourself and empower others.
Person Specification:
- Essential: Registered on NMC register, Part 1 or Part 2, experience in nursing for older people, knowledge and experience with the Gold Standards Framework, evidence of recent and relevant professional development, excellent clinical assessment skills, experience of managing a team, knowledge of the CQC Fundamental Standards, ability to motivate self and empower others.
- Desirable: Knowledge of the CQC Fundamental Standards.
