About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join our Technology finance team at Tesco. As a key Business Partner, you will work closely with the Technology leadership team to optimize investments and drive value through an integrated strategic and annual plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive value through an integrated strategic and annual plan, working with Technology Leadership team and FP&A to prioritize reviews, key bottom-up planning, and assumptions.
  • Evaluate and challenge the financial management of technology across the business to ensure it remains best-in-class, considering the pace of change within technology.
  • Manage the financial portfolio of investments across a significant number of individual investment projects, spanning multiple delivery programs and priorities.
  • Review and challenge cases for Technology investments, ensuring incremental spend in Technology saves money elsewhere in the business.
  • Deliver insightful management accounts and director packs for the leadership, ensuring good controls of their areas with detailed risks and opportunities.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial modeling and analysis to support innovation and business decision-making, working with Control & FP&A.
  • Identify and deliver efficiency savings across the cost base, promoting a cost-conscious culture.
  • Drive improvements and simplification of processes and finance operating models, working with finance teams across the end-to-end capital lifecycle.
  • Develop financial awareness across the Technology team.

Requirements

  • Accountancy qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • Strong data interpretation and analysis skills, alongside commercial savviness
  • Ability to drive the finance agenda and work effectively with senior colleagues
  • Resilience and willingness to challenge
  • Understanding of Technology function is an advantage
