Role Overview

This position at Colas Rail involves operating and conducting a variety of plant traction equipment within a designated region. Your responsibilities will encompass driving On-Track Machines (OTMs) and potentially other specialized machinery such as Rail Grinders and Freight trains. Safety is paramount in this role, and adherence to strict protocols is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate and conduct a range of plant traction equipment.
  • Strictly adhere to Colas Rail Services Operations procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality systems and databases.
  • Continuously update your knowledge of designated routes and ensure accuracy within the company's route management system.
  • Proficiently drive various On-Track Machines (OTMs) as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in operating trains and rail-based equipment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of designated routes and the ability to navigate them effectively.
  • Possession of a valid European Driving Licence and a Road Driving Licence.
  • PTS Certification demonstrating your competence in working on railway tracks.
  • Fire Training certification, highlighting your preparedness for emergency situations.
  • Emergency First Aid Certification, enabling you to provide immediate assistance in case of accidents.
  • Experience as a Driver Mentor, showcasing your ability to train and guide others.
  • Ability to operate all types of On-Track Machines (OTMs) within the designated region.
  • Thorough understanding of Safety Plans and Method Statements, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Commitment to adhering to Health & Safety regulations and promoting a safe working environment.
