Position Overview:

The Governance, Risk & Compliance Adviser will collaborate closely with the Risk Governance & Compliance Manager, contributing to the operational excellence of UK Power Networks Services. This role is pivotal in ensuring robust governance and compliance practices within the organization.

Compensation:

Attractive salary package with performance-based bonuses. Flexible working arrangements are available following the initial probation period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance and maintain the internal control framework, focusing on project governance, risk management, and compliance.
  • Oversee the Project Governance and Control framework, ensuring adherence throughout project lifecycles.
  • Develop and refine the online governance tool to ensure usability and transparency.
  • Organize and manage the risk management framework in alignment with corporate procedures.
  • Review and update the online risk management platform, ensuring all risk controls are effectively managed.
  • Facilitate risk quantification during the tender bidding process when designated as a risk manager.
  • Collaborate with corporate risk teams to ensure compliance with overarching governance requirements.
  • Identify training needs and deliver sessions on governance, risk, and compliance topics.
  • Support the annual compliance submissions and ensure completion of any action plans.
  • Lead the development and testing of business continuity plans in accordance with company policies.
  • Manage minor improvement projects as needed.
  • Provide support to the Risk, Governance & Compliance Manager in fulfilling their responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in governance, risk, compliance, and business continuity management.
  • Familiarity with the construction or infrastructure sectors is preferred.
  • Background in risk management with knowledge of relevant terminology and techniques.
  • Experience in infrastructure project risk management is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of governance and control processes.
  • Ability to analyze issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for relationship building across various organizational levels.
  • Effective presentation skills.
