Paediatric Haematology Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Paediatric Haematology Specialist to join our team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. As a Consultant in Paediatric Haematology and Haemato Oncology, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care to children and young people with haematological disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and expertise in Paediatric Non-Malignant Haematology, including haemostasis and thrombosis, Leukaemia and Stem Cell Transplantation.
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with haemoglobinopathies and haemophilia, in collaboration with the existing haematologist.
- Participate in the joint adult and paediatric telephone advice on call service for the Leeds Childrens Hospitals Inherited Bleeding Disorder Service.
- Contribute to the development of the service in line with the National Service Specification, with a focus on reducing levels of morbidity and mortality and improving the experience of all haemoglobinopathy patients.
- MB BS (or equivalent) and FRCPath or equivalent qualification.
- MRCP or MRCPCH or equivalent and entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) or CESR.
- Experience in training undergraduate medical students and postgraduate doctors, and participation in regular clinical audit.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team.
