About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Haematology Training Specialist to join our team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. As a key member of our Blood Sciences Department, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and leading on all aspects of haematology and morphology training for junior members of staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver the morphology training program and lead on the training of junior staff
  • Support the department in maintaining its ISO15189 accreditation status
  • Collaborate with Clinical Haematology teams in the regional Oncology centre and the Leeds Children's Hospital
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of junior staff
  • Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures related to training and development
Requirements
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Significant experience in Haematology and blood film morphology
  • Experience of coordinating or leading on training activity
  • Completed IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Haematology (for those registered with the HCPC on or after 2006)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
