Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity is available for a Band 6 Physiotherapist to become part of Nottingham CityCare Partnership CIC's Integrated Respiratory and Home Oxygen Service on a temporary contract, working 30 hours per week.

This innovative service is dedicated to providing evidence-based evaluations and follow-ups for individuals in need of urgent and routine symptom management, as well as various therapeutic interventions in community settings, including rehabilitation and education in both home and clinic environments.

We seek a passionate, driven, and diligent physiotherapist with experience in respiratory care. The successful candidate will have the chance to engage in postgraduate and specialized training to enhance their existing respiratory skills, empowering them to assist patients in achieving independence within their communities.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and work collaboratively within a team while exhibiting confidence in decision-making. A willingness to pursue specialized training as needed is also required.

A valid driving license and access to a vehicle are necessary for this role.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting routine clinical management of patients with respiratory needs within the service pathway.
  • Participating in audits, practice development, and case management.

Key Qualifications

Essential:

  • BSc Hons Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • HCPC registered Physiotherapist

Desirable:

  • MCSP
  • Evidence of further professional development
  • Postgraduate qualifications in COPD, Asthma, and Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Experience Requirements

Essential:

  • Postgraduate experience in managing patients with various respiratory conditions, including Asthma, COPD, Bronchiectasis, and Interstitial lung disease.
  • Willingness to learn or experience in conducting comprehensive respiratory patient assessments.
  • Understanding of multidisciplinary and/or multi-agency collaboration within a community context.
  • Experience working across primary and secondary care settings.

Desirable:

  • Experience in project work utilizing a multi-agency approach
  • Community experience
  • Experience in clinical supervision

Skills and Competencies

Essential:

  • Ability to work effectively in a team, supporting colleagues and constructively challenging views when necessary.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in time management and clinical risk assessment.

Desirable:

  • Broad knowledge of respiratory conditions
  • Experience with community electronic records systems

Special Requirements

Essential:

  • Flexibility in working hours to meet service needs
  • Full driving license and ability to travel between locations
  • Ability to manage a caseload under pressure with a positive, non-judgmental attitude
